Bokashicycle offers to contract processors
Ultra Concentrate mix in 10 and 25 lbs packets. These Ultra
Concentrate Packets allow the industrial scale operator to produce tons
of culture mix on site using wheat bran obtained locally mixed with the
ultra concentrate. Licensed facilities can reduce their consumable cost
in processing food waste to approximately $10 per ton.
Commercial
and Industrial users of the bokashi culture mix may take advantage of

Bokashicycle
culture mix is a proprietary formulated culture mix designed to rapidly
degrade and metabolize all organic waste material including leaves,
grass, weeds, shredded chips food waste, cull vegetable and fruit. Meat
and dairy products may be included in the food waste being processed.
A
proprietary accelerant (liquid spray) is used with the bokashi culture
mix to process yard waste materials (grass, leaves, weeds and wood
chips). No accelerant is required in the processing of food waste
(meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and cereals).
The
process involves an acidic anaerobic fermentation step with attention to
detail. Oxygen must be excluded to adequately degrade waste material.
It is a two step process involving first the fermentation step that
takes 7 – 10 days and then a mixing of the fermented product with soil
to allow the soil microbes to rapidly finish off the processing of waste
material.
The
entire conversion of waste to soil will rarely take more than 30 days
although the process may be slowed when the temperature is below 10 C
requiring a somewhat longer period to finish off the process. Generally
speaking this process is 10 times faster than composting, far less
expensive and unlike composting does not produce the volume of
greenhouse gases and other noxious odors associated with composting. No
methane is ever produced in the bokashi fermentation process.
In small
scale operations of less than 10 tons per month, 55 gallon fermenters
are used to properly treat the waste material (see Commercial and
Industrial Fermenters). In larger scale operations, 3 cubic yard bins are set in bays with appropriate covers. The fermented waste is then moved to a central processing unit to obtain AgrowTea and VermiPulp. These AgroBio products are high value end products used to much improve soil fertility and minimize dependence on chemical fertilizing activities.
We
recommend shredding of organic waste before processing to obtain the
finest and most efficient processing in the larger scale industrial and
commercial operations.
When the
culture mix is added to organic waste and allowed to ferment under
anaerobic conditions no heat nor appreciable gases are released and the
mixing and processing of waste is exceptionally easy and scalable.
Bio-Activate Soil:
A great
advantage aside from the low cost of processing is the little work
involved in converting waste to bio-activate soil. Vermin and insects are not
attracted to the process and noxious and offensive odors are eliminated.
Fruits
and vegetables are very rapidly metabolized and plant managers at food
processing plants that have a need to get rid of cull materials should
consider processing the culls by this method.
Municipalities
with an interest in more efficiently processing of park and garden
litter including leaves and other garden debris can easily implement
this process. This process is a truly sustainable and carbon dioxide
reducing strategy that puts virtually 100 % of the waste material to
work in the soil.
With
composting approximately 50% of the waste material is oxidized and
liberated in the form of carbon dioxide. This results in very measurable
increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide.
